Patient Entertainment Options
Off air television channels
All HTR systems provide access to normal broadcast television channels. This maintains a home like feel for patients by allowing access to regular television viewing choices. Digital transmission is now being installed into sites that are within the broadcast areas.
Pay television channels
HTR have entered a national agreement for the supply of pay television services for the Australian hospital sector. Using a group of channels specifically selected for their content variety, quality and short running times, the HTR Pay TV services provide a greater range of viewing choices and enhance the patient's perception of the entertainment value of the TV service provided. In-house movie channels
In-house movie channels allow patients to view the latest movie releases for added viewing entertainment. The movies available are what are known as Airline release movies. These are channels that are no longer showing in the cinemas but have not yet been released onto DVD or Video.
AM/FM radio broadcast channels
These channels allow patients to enjoy listening to the most popular radio stations without the need to install a separate audio distribution network to each bed.
Easy listening CD music channel
Easy listening music generated by a multi-disc CD player provides soothing background music for your patients. Audio can also be matched to relaxing graphics and pictures.
Audio Books
HTR are please to introduce audio books. This gives patients the chance to relax and listen to the latest released novels books without having to look at a screen.
Information Services
Patient information channel(s)
Using the information usually found in the patient information booklet, an information channel provides a friendly way of keeping your patients informed about current activities and routines within the hospital. The system is readily updated using a simple to use computer graphics and text program and the cost is less than reprinting information booklets.
Patient television sets initially switch to the information channel, thereby providing each patient with a positive introduction to the hospital.
Lounge and waiting area channel
HTR can provide a special channel targeted to patient and visitors lounges and waiting rooms. Programming is a mix of information regarding the hospital and its services, as well as general good health programs and appropriate light entertainment shows. The development and regular updating of this special service is funded by the inclusion of advertisements for local business and services.
Chapel vision
Allows bedridden patients to participate in the hospital's chapel services. Service is provided by closed circuit television camera and audio and also makes provision for the transmission of appropriate religious video materials.
Educational Channel(s)
Patient Education
Patient education channel(s) are an ideal way of providing your patients with educational material relevant to their treatment or medical condition, thereby improving patient under-standing and peace of mind. This can be ward specific with full control given to Nurse Units Managers or Ward Clerks wishing to show information relating to patients condition whenever required.
Staff Education
Staff can be kept up to date with the latest in medical procedures via the broadcast of educational video material.

Television Monitors

Choice of Manufacturers
HTR uses quality television equipment from major suppliers. These televisions are then modified to meet the stringent operational and safety requirements current in Australian hospitals. All sets offer up to 99 channels tuning capacity, thereby meeting all expected growth in entertainment services.
Sound Muted
All televisions used in ward areas have sound available only through a patient remote control handset. This keeps sound levels low to maintain a restful environment.
Safety
All television sets have special audio and opto coupler isolation to ensure maximum patient and staff safety at all times.
